Si usas Windows, se recomienda que instales Pixelmon usando el Lanzador de Pixelmon. La mayoría de las siguientes instrucciones se aplican para aquellos que instalen Pixelmon con el lanzador de Minecraft.

Esta es una guía para instalar Pixelmon. Esta guía incluye la instalación de Pixelmon por el lado del cliente, ya sea para su uso en el modo un jugador, o para unirse a servidores de Pixelmon. Si tu intención es instalar Pixelmon para tu servidor, puedes acceder a la guía de instalación en servidores.

Esta guía asume que ya has comprado e instalado Minecraft. Si este no es tu caso y no tienesMinecraft instalado, necesitarás hacerlo antes de instalar Pixelmon.

Requisitos de Instalación

• Una copia pagada de la edición de ordenador de Minecraft. Se trata de la versión que se obtiene al comprar Minecraft en minecraft.net usando una cuenta de Mojang.
  • Solo es posible ejecutar Pixelmon con la edición de ordenador. No es posible ejecutar Pixelmon desde las ediciones de Minecraft como Pocket Edition (incluyendo Windows 10 Edition) y las ediciones de consola (Xbox, PlayStation, Wii U).
• 2 GB de RAM disponibles.
• La versión de 64-bits de Java 8.

Notas

• Si Minecraft se está ejecutando, ciérralo antes de instalar algo.
• Comprueba que al menos dispones de 2 GB de RAM asignados a Minecraft. Ten en cuenta que esto requiere de un sistema operativo de 64-bits y de una versión de Java de 64-bits. Si no sabes como asignar memoria, puedes acceder a esta página.
• Asegurate de tener una copia pagada de Minecraft, y no de un lanzador crackeado. Si utilizas un lanzador crackeado, tus Pokémon no se guardarán cuando salgas de Minecraft. Este problema no se arreglará.
• No uses el Technic launcher para instalar Pixelmon. No recibirás ningún Pokémon Inicial, y no podrás utilizar las funciones que trae Pixelmon; esta incompatibilidad no será arreglado. Utiliza el lanzador de Minecraft o el lanzador de Pixelmon.
• The Pixelmon jar file is universal, meaning that the same jar can be used for both client and server.
• If you are installing other mods alongside Pixelmon, check the incompatibilities list to make sure you don't install mods incompatible with Pixelmon.

Versions

Pixelmon is compatible with several versions of Minecraft, shown in the table below. Each version of Minecraft requires a different version of Pixelmon to be used. Note that only the Minecraft 1.10.2 version of Pixelmon currently receives updates; versions of Pixelmon for older versions of Minecraft will no longer receive updates or bug fixes.

There is no Pixelmon version for Minecraft version 1.11 yet. See this page for Pixelmon's current status with regards to Minecraft 1.11.

The Forge installer

Forge installation

1. Find the recommended Forge version for your chosen Minecraft version on this page. Depending on your operating system, download either the "Installer-win" (Windows) or "Installer" (Mac OS/Linux) file.
2. The downloaded file is an automatic installer; when you run it, make sure you select "client".
3. When the Forge installation is done, open the Minecraft launcher.
4. Select the "Launch Options" tab on the header bar of the launcher.
5. Either add a new profile or edit an existing profile.
6. Find the drop-down menu labeled "Version" and select it. There should be an option named after the Forge version you installed. Choose this version.
7. Save your profile.
8. Navigate to any other tab and start Minecraft.
9. If Minecraft loads without crashing, check the bottom-left corner of the main menu. If the Forge version you downloaded is listed in this corner, you have installed Forge correctly.
10. Close Minecraft. Minecraft cannot be open while you are installing Pixelmon.

Pixelmon installation

1. Download the latest version of Pixelmon here.
   • Make sure that the downloaded jar file's size is around 380 MB. If it is significantly smaller (e.g., 0 B), then the download was corrupted, and you should try re-downloading the file.
2. Open the Minecraft launcher.
3. Edit the profile that you installed Forge with.
4. Find the text box labeled "Game directory". To the right of this text box is a folder and a green arrow. Click on the green arrow to open the Minecraft game directory folder.
   • Alternatively, use your system's file browser (e.g., File Explorer, Finder) to navigate to the file path listed in the "Game directory" text box.
5. In the game directory folder, look for a folder named "mods". If you do not see a folder with this name, create a "mods" folder.
6. Place the downloaded Pixelmon file inside the "mods" folder.
   • Do not extract or unzip the file. Place the jar file directly into the folder.
7. Save your profile.
8. Navigate to any other tab and start Minecraft.
9. If Minecraft loads without crashing, check the "Mods" section on the main menu. If Pixelmon is listed among the mods that are installed, you have installed Pixelmon correctly.

Troubleshooting

• If you follow the instructions above and Minecraft crashes, start by examining the crash report and this crash reading guide.
• If Minecraft never finishes loading or it is very laggy, you may need to allocate more memory to Minecraft. See Fixing memory issues for instructions about resolving this issue.
• If you still have issues with Minecraft crashing and the notes above don't contain the answer you need, try posting a support ticket on Pixelmon's support tracker.
