Ultra Crater Pipes

The Ultra Crater Pipes are a network of pipes generating in the Ultra Crater biome in Ultra Space.

They are fully traversable and form the equivalent of Raid Dens and Hidden Grottos in this biome, including special sections with the Den and Beast Ball Pokéloot, which can randomly generate as part of the network.

Generation

The pipes generate starting from one of three elements (Ultra Crater Den A, B or C), which determines the initial color of the pipes. Pipes come in three colors, following the three main stone variants of the Overworld:

• Gray Pipes are made of polished andesite.
• Red Pipes are made of polished granite.
• White Pipes are made of polished diorite.

They all share the same set of pipe elements, with only minor substantial differences. While each segment can only connect to sections of the same color, there are a number of elements which have connectors of different colors, making it possible for a network to contain more than one color of pipe.

Pipes can generate both above as well as underground, so it is not always easy to gauge the full expanse of a network at first glance.

Special Segments

Each pipe network can contain a number of Raid Den and Hidden Grotto elements. Dens serve as both the origin point of a network, as well as one of the possible terminator elements of upward facing pipes. Grottos on the other hand can randomly generate as larger rooms throughout the network, which connect to two or more different pipe colors. Smaller grotto elements also serve as possible terminators for pipes facing sideways or down.

Flooding

Pipe segments may be partially or entirely flooded if they generated in or near water. This creates both challenges and advantages when exploring the pipe network. Partially flooded pipes can slow down exploration a lot, and players will need to watch their breath in fully flooded sections. But swimming makes the Pipes easier to traverse, and the sea pickles growing in them provide better illumination underwater.

Trivia

• The Ultra Crater Pipes are the structure with the most unique elements that generate blocks, at 70.
• However, it only takes the third place in the number of unique elements in total, behind the Water Gym village with 82 (61 structure elements + 21 for NPCs) and the Steel Gym village with 75 (54 structure elements + 21 for NPCs).
