An Amulet Coin is a held item that doubles the amount of PokéDollars that are gained after defeating an NPC Trainer. It will only take effect if the Amulet Coin's holder enters the battle. It can be obtained as a tier 2 special drop. It is a possible drop from uncommon and rare boss Pokémon, and from wild Meowth.
