Move Skills/en

Move Skills are actions that Pokémon can execute outside of battle. Most move skills require a certain move to be known by the Pokémon in order to be used. However, every Pokémon is able to use Forage.

When a Pokémon is sent out, its move skill is shown at the top-right corner of the screen. With default controls, an move skill can be used by pressing 'g'. If a Pokémon is able to use multiple external moves, the player can cycle through them by pressing (by default) 'b'.

After using an move skill, a cooldown timer will be imposed on it, graying out the move's icon, and it cannot be used again until the timer expires. The duration of this cooldown depends on the type of move skill and may also depend on the Pokémon's stats. The cooldown is independent per Pokémon and continues to count down even if the Pokémon is withdrawn.

By using the MoveSkillController sidemod, move skills can be adjusted to be enabled and shown to the player, which Pokémon and move allows them, the cooldown on each one, as well as many other specific options.

Config settings

• "allowDestructiveExternalMoves": Whether players can use move skill that destroy blocks or otherwise cause destruction. This includes Cut, Dig, Explode, Ignite, Rock Smash, and Lightning Bolt.
• "allowExternalMoves": Whether players can use move skills.
