Installation
Pixelmon TCG is currently in closed alpha testing; it is not yet available for public download.
Pixelmon TCG is compatible with Pixelmon versions 4.2 and up. It must be installed both server-side and client-side to be used.
Overview
Pixelmon TCG adds various items and blocks to the game in order to facilitate the collecting of, trading of, and playing of the Pokémon TCG within Pixelmon.
Getting started
Upon first joining a server, a player will not have any Pixelmon TCG cards yet. In order to get started, booster packs can be bought with PokéDollars from a shopkeeper within a town. Alternatively, a camera can be used to take photos, which can then be printed into cards using blank cards and a printer.
Printing cards
After acquiring a photo of a Pokémon, a printer is needed to make the photo into a card.
After obtaining a printer, blank cards can be combined with photos to create Pixelmon TCG cards. There are different types of blank cards depending on the energy type and rarity of the card. You can checkout the recipes for blank cards at Pixelmon_TCG/Blank_Cards.
Putting a blank card and a photo into a printer will produce a card of the Pokémon depicted in the photo. A blank card can also be placed in a printer without a photo, creating an energy card.
A card can only be created if its Energy type, rarity, and Pokemon match an existing card in a supported set of TCG cards; at the moment, only cards in the Base Set are supported.
Building a deck
After obtaining enough cards, a deck can be built using the cards and a deck holder. A deck holder can either be bought from a shopkeeper or crafted.
Battling
A battle can be started by using a Pixelmon BattleBox while holding a valid card deck (more details in official rulebook) which will be used in the battle.
Battle rule is the same as in official Pokemon Trading Card Game.
Below are current limitations of TCG battles:
- To stop an ongoing battle, the BattleBox must be destroyed, the server must be restarted, or both participants have to leave the server and rejoin.
- The initial hand will be redrawn until there is a basic-stage Pokémon in the hand.
- Almost all cards and attacks of Base Set and Jungle are implemented. The current development status of each card/attack/ability can be followed here.
