Ditto is a Normal-type Pokémon.

Ditto has special properties related to breeding, allowing it to breed with any Pokémon (including male Pokémon) that isn't in the Undiscovered Egg Group and produce the other Pokémon's first evolutionary stage with the resulting Eggs. If a Ditto breeds with another Ditto, an Egg containing almost any random Pokémon (excluding Legendary Pokémon) will be produced.

Ditto can only be obtained from a cloning machine when the process of creating Mewtwo fails. It also has a small chance (0.005% by default) to turn into a wild Pokémon caught by the player.

Ditto rearranges its cell structure to transform itself into other shapes. However, if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong.
