Forge installation

  1. Go to this page, and find the recommended build (as shown to the right).
  2. Click either "Windows Installer" (if on Windows) or "Installer" (macOS/Linux).
  3. The downloaded file is an automatic installer. Run it, select "Install client" and then click "OK".
    • Note: If you plan to use an alternative launcher, you may need to change the folder it installs to first.
  4. When the Forge installation is done, open the Minecraft launcher.
  5. Click the "Launch Options" tab on the header bar of the launcher.
  6. There should now be a Forge profile listed. Check if it's there.
    • Note: If no Forge profile shows up (or it is outdated), follow these steps first:
    1. If no Forge profile is present, click "Add new". If an older profile is present, click that instead.
    2. Find the drop-down menu labeled "Version" and select your new Forge version.
    3. Save your profile.
  7. Click any other tab, such as "News".
  8. Click the arrow to the right of the "PLAY" button.
  9. Select your new Forge profile and then click "PLAY".
  10. Check the bottom-left corner of the main menu. You should see the Forge version you installed.
  11. Close Minecraft and move on to Pixelmon installation. Minecraft should not be open while installing mods.
