Gems are held items that boost the power of a move of their corresponding type by 1.5×, being consumed in the process. They are crafted with six diamonds and an item related to the Gem's type. They can also be obtained from Gem structures. A config option can be set to allow boss Pokémon to drop Gems; this option is off by default.

Fairy Gems cannot be crafted and are unobtainable without spawning them in. They have no use as the Fairy type is not in Pixelmon.
