Iron ingots can be obtained from smelting iron ore like in vanilla Minecraft, but they can also be obtained as drops from many wild Steel-type Pokémon.
Iron ingots are needed to craft a variety of different items in Pixelmon, including healers, anvils, iron discs, iron hammers, Wailmer Pails, and both types of running boots.
