A Rare Candy is an item that can level up a Pokémon. Rare Candies can be obtained as a tier 1 special drop, as a possible drop from boss Pokémon, or from Max Raid Battles. Using a Rare Candy on a Pokémon owned by the player will use the Rare Candy and increase its level by one. While holding a Rare Candy, nearby wild pokémon will follow the player - and pokemon owned by the player will follow more closely than normal.
Even when maxed leveled a Rare Candy can still be used to evolve a Pokémon.
