For more information on the Nether, see this page.

The Nether is one of the other dimensions in Minecraft. No Pokémon spawn here, and there are no plans for this to ever be the case. The only difference in the Nether related to Pixelmon is that Fire Stone Ore may near lava lakes.

Resources

  • Glowstone Dust is dropped by wild Pikachu and Pichu, while Redstone Lamps (which require Glowstone Dust to make) can be found in Pokémon Centers, making a trip to the Nether less necessary for Glowstone. However, if a large amount of Glowstone is needed, going to the Nether will be a quicker source of Glowstone than hunting for Pikachu and Pichu.
  • Blaze Powder is dropped by wild Charmeleon, Magmar, and Quilava. Whole Blaze Rods are only obtainable from Blazes as usual.
  • Netherrack, Soul Sand, Nether Wart, and Nether Quartz can be found only in the Nether like in vanilla Minecraft.
  • Ghast Tears and Wither Skeleton Skulls are unobtainable normally in Pixelmon as regular mobs don't spawn outside of Monster Spawners. If these resources are desired, the Pixelmon config setting "Allow vanilla mobs" can be changed to true.

Bugs

  • Players should avoid throwing out Pokémon, battling, or quitting/disconnecting whilst in the Nether as it may cause a corruption of data.
