An Assault Vest is a held item that raises the holder's Special Defense by 50%, but prevents the holder from using status moves. If this restriction renders the holder unable to use any of its moves, the holder will use Struggle instead. It can be obtained as a tier 3 special drop. It is a possible drop from uncommon boss Pokémon and from wild Volcanion.
