I have still been unable to find a fossil in the wild...

I usually dig at bedrock to find the most diamonds. I heard that fossils were just below sea level...

What range of Level are they located in ?

they spawn everywhere in every biome now.. from levels 40-20 around gravel.

thats what ive heard from other topics about fossils.

I've only found one fossil and it was at layer 34 close to my spawn.
