#185250 I'm looking for some help. I'm currently deployed and my son back home has gotten into pixelmon. I've downloaded it and can play single player but I can't figure out how to get multiplayer to work so we can play together. We tried joining a couple of servers but we couldn't figure out how to get to any of the pokemon in them. I'm not looking for anything fancy, I basically just want to play the single player version but somehow link it to my son. Thanks for any help in advance.

#185252 You can't just join any random server; you need to join those that have Pixelmon installed.

Since you want a singleplayer-like experience, you can use LAN to play Pixelmon locally with another player. Alternatively, you can host a multiplayer server yourself and install Pixelmon on it.

#185253 [*]Thanks for the response. Unfortunately my son is about 5000 miles away so LAN wont work. Is there an easy and current walkthrough on hosting a multiplayer server? I found a few walkthroughs but they were either outdated and I'm not computer smart enough to improvise with the changes or spoke above my level. Thanks again.

Most of the steps are the same as making a normal Minecraft server. After that, the only extra steps are installing Forge and then Pixelmon.
