Seems ok now Moe; I had the right versions but wrong forge. Everything is going splendidly on the server now. Very happy with how Sponge is running. Touch wood....

Ok since that last post I moved host and Sponge was not yet working. But now the beta is out for Sponge and I'm about to test it with another host that also supplied Java 8. I think Sponge was not yet ready; now I feel confident it will run fine. I'll post an update soon.
