Similiar to Pick up, the honey gather ability might find honey after a battle. The higher the level of the Pokémon, the higher the chance honey will be gathered. This is something I would like to see added, including the following as well:

Honey[Item] restore health in battle,
(lure bug types towards you while holding it) and,
last but not least, smear honey in trees to possibly encounter certain Pokémon.

It would have a similiar effect to the external move "Sweet Scent" but might be able to encounter some other Pokémon. A prime example being Munchlax, who would rather sit in a Honey Tree than come running to you and your sweet scent. It would be a nice way to include Munchlax in the spawns.

Options for spawning may include:

Adding Honey to a tree and click the honey to encounter a battle (may have some delay?)
Adding Honey to different kinds of trees to find different kinds of Pokémon
