i feel like we should have something like the poke anmie to make a Pokemon more friendly it would also make us able to pet them.

While that would be nice, I don't think it'll happen any time soon. At least not in the full scope. The petting animations would be a huge load of work for our animators - 800 separate animations. With only 2 modelers/animators currently, we'll have to focus on finishing missing forms and remodels before we can even think about this.
