This is a very good model, I would recommend cleaning up the geo meaning don't use triangles.. make'em squares. Also question, what modeling program do you use? I'll teach you how to fix the lighting issues. Also i'll help ya out if you need and texturing advice

not like it matters, they get turned into triangles anyways

I use blender (That's all I have), and I do still need texture help.

Actually it does matter, quads deform better when animating and once its animated then its triangulated. And quads are preferred way of modeling.

I removed a lot of the triangles.

Texturing is almost down pack. Thanks for the tips and motivation.
