Flat blocks are a no-go. They just render horribly in-game. Pictures in karry's tutorial, in gen1 Model Feedback thread.

Ok, so if i was to make those blocks 1 block thick with one side transparent and texture on the other, it is still visible from both sides?

Well you tell me, look at the models made, or in-game. All blocks are at least 1 thick, so I think it's the way it works.
I know nothing about modelling, so I can't say much. But yeah, I think one side transparent is the way to go.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Moved away from 0 width blocks and added noise to the single colour parts of the texture. Image Image

As you can see its very blocky, My main question is, if i was to make it HUGE in techne, is it possible for the scale to be manipulated to make it remoraid sized? or should i use the GIScale tools in techne?

Also this would allow me to do a proper texture, instead of this pixelated version.

Thanks in advance.

the gi scale does nothing in terms of modeling, so you will have to remake it from scratch

If you make the model massive in techne we can just scale it down in game very simply.

Hey Cynark? Can you help me get the hang of Techne? I REALLY want to get into modeling, and think I could become really good at it if I tried. It's amazing to see how u went from a blocky model to this. I just don't know where to start?

Probably what makes it look the best is the higher resolution texture, despite it being a small model. Somebody linked to a way to make a high res texture earlier in this thread.
